Srinagar April 30 (KNO) : Reacting to the assertions of Kavinder Gupta who after taking oath as Dy. Chief Minister described the horrific and shameful incident of rape and murder of eight year girl, as smallest incident, Congress today condemned the Dy. Chief Minister over his assertions, terming it as a move to justify and divert the attention from the rape and brutal murder of nomad girl.

Congress also asked the Chief Minister to clear his stand on the assertions of Dy. Chief Minister, as the incident of rape and murder of nomad girl has not only shaken the conscience of entire Nation, but of the entire world, bringing bad name to the Country and State. Taking a jibe at Dy. Chief Minister over his assertions, The Party Spokesperson expressed serious concern, saying that Dy. Chief Minister is holding a responsible position, how can he justify the horrific rape and murder of an eight-year innocent girl.

He said an eight year old girl, belonging to Bakerwal Community, was raped and brutally murdered in Kathua district, how can one expect his(Dy. Chief Minister) to say that the incident was a smallest. it shows how the people of the State are being treated by the Coalition Govt, who on the one hand assure delivery of justice to the victim, besides exemplary punishment to culprits and on the other hand describe the shameful incident of brutal rape and murder, as smallest incident, which is indicative of dual policies on the part of BJP PDP.

Urging upon the Chief Minister to clarify his stand on the assertions of her senior cabinet colleague, as these are very dangerous and anti-people, which will further deepen the alienation among the people, he added and also sought an explanation from the Dy. Chief Minister over his assertions.
